Originally from east London, from a very young age I loved colour and drawing. As a teen, I got interested in photography, both colour and black & white, and I started taking photographs with my first film camera. Eventually I went on to study fine art at West Surrey College of Art and Design, graduating with a BA Honours degree in 1993. A highlight was taking part in a group project painting a landscape mural in an elderly people's home.
Afterwards I focused on photography for many years, and countless hours were spent developing film and photos in a darkroom. Occasionally, my work somehow found its way into print editorially. In 2000, I was the winner of a national student photographic competition held by The Guardian, and in 2001 I completed studies in photography at City of Westminster College, gaining a BTEC National Certificate with distinction. I continued to draw in my spare time, along with workshops in printmaking and etching.
In 2010 I made a life change and left London for north Wales, where peaceful and open surroundings allowed me to return to my roots in painting and continue evolving as an artist. I have taken part in group exhibitions including Oriel Ynys Môn, Anglesey and the Royal Cambrian Academy, Conwy and my paintings have sold into private collections around the world.
